Cast iron lapping plate is the most widely used lapping plate in both single side and double side lapping process. As a conventional lapping method, it works well on a wide range of materials, from semiconductor wafers ,precision optics, precision ceramic to cemented carbides, almost all kind of metals, plastics. For the lapping of hard and brittle parts, cast iron lapping plates is one of the best choose in terms of quality and cost control. For double side lapping process, almost all machines are using cast iron plates.
