Lapping Slurry Additive
Lapping slurry suspension additive is very important for the preparation of a good lapping slurry, in any lapping cases, suspension type lapping slurry has better performance than non-suspension type lapping slurry because suspension type lapping slurry will form a very even and thin lapping slurry film between the lapping plates and workpiece during the lapping process, so higher lapping pressure can be applied and the geometry shape of the plates is better copied to the parts, by contrast, for the non-suspension type of lapping slurry, abrasive particles are easy to settle hard in the dropping point of the lapping slurry which causes uneven distribution of the abrasive between the lapping plates and the workpiece, as a result, scratch or breakage issues are easy to happen and the flatness of the workpiece and lapping efficiency are not guaranteed.

Vector HTS 1.3-EU can be used with all most all kinds of abrasives, such as polycrystalline diamond and monocrystalline diamond, white alumina, green silicon carbide, boron carbide etc. for the lapping of different kinds of materials like semiconductor wafers (Si, GaAs, InP , LT/LN) , sapphire wafers or sapphire windows, ceramics, all kinds of metals , especially for soft metals like copper and aluminum which are very easy to get scratch during lapping process, HTS 1.3EU will make a totally different surface quality on these parts.
Direction:
VECTOR HTS Series Products should be mixed with deionized water and abrasive using the following slurry formula: 77-82% water, 15-18% abrasive, 3-5% HTS Series Product. Use an agitator with a marine type propeller and a motor capable of 1000 RPM. Use a low shear dispense pump for feeding the mixed slurry onto the lap.
Disperse the abrasive with DI water between 500 and 1500 rpm for 10 minutes. Add HTS Series Product. Mix for approximately 2-10 minutes. Avoid sucking air into the slurry during mixing. A small vortex should form at the surface of the slurry when the product is mixed. Afterwards, turn the mixer off, or to a maximum of 50 rpm. Low Viscosity Lapping Slurry Suspension Additive Challenge 543-HT
Challenge 543-HT is a low viscosity lapping slurry suspension additive that is typically suggested to be used with small size abrasives, Challenge 543-HT has the similar characteristics as Vector HTS 1.3-EU while slurry prepared with Challenge 543-HT has better flow ability and lubricity. There is a special application besides of making suspension type lapping or polishing slurries, Challenge 543-HT can also be used to prepare a kind of special coolant, inside which a type of ZWA (platelet white alumina-P10) is added, this coolant works a coolant as well as diamond grinding wheel/pad sharpening media when doing double side fine grinding on sapphire wafers, which ensures a stable cutting rate.

Lapping Slurry Dispersion Additive Challenge 550-HT
CHALLENGE 550-HT was developed for use in “high-speed recirculating” and “high-speed once-through” slurry pumping systems. Utilizing the energy of a high speed circulating pump, standard on most lapping machines, it evenly disperses aluminum oxide, cerium oxide, silicon carbide, boron carbide, and garnet abrasive. It also reduces scratch and abrasive usage by eliminating “hard-packing” and waste.

Direction:
CHALLENGE 550-HT is used at approximately 5% (by volume) with de-ionized (DI) water or tap water. After CHALLENGE 550-HT is mixed with the water in the slurry tank, add the abrasive. The slurry will be ready for use almost immediately. Start grain loading 400 g/liter for a one-meter machine. Flow rate for the slurry should be approximately 300ml/minute for a one-meter machine.

Lapping Slurry Acceleration Additive Challenge 361-HT
Challenge 361-HT is a kind of very special lapping slurry additive which can enhance the stock removal rate during lapping process, it can be used with abrasives like white alumina, silicon carbides, boron carbides and diamond. In most of cases, challenge 361-HT can increase the stock remove up to more than 30%。 Besides, Challenge 361-HT features with very well anti-corrasion and heat conduction characteristic which can protect the machine from rusty and make a safe lapping process.

Lapping Slurry Anti-rust Additive AR-100/AR-200
AR series lapping slurry anti-rust additives are used for the purpose of protecting cast iron lapping plate, conditioning rings from getting rusty during process or maintenance. It can be diluted inside the lapping slurry, and can also be used to be sprayed onto the lapping plates without dilution. AR-100 is short term anti-rust additive which can protect lapping plates or conditioning rings for one or two weeks, and AR-200 can last for two or three months. AR series lapping slurry anti-rust additive can also be used to protect lapped parts from getting rusty, as they are water soluble, the protection film is very easy to be clean away.
